Mohair Child's Lady of Dixie

Welcome, children (or should that be, Come on Children, Come on?), to the newest episode of Doug's Spare Time.  We have a great show for you today, complete with some BREAKING NEWS!!!  I'm not positive, but the three exclamation points seem to be compulsory (... I can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and I can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and I can do you all three concurrent or consecutive, but I can't do you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory--they're all blood, you see) as far as text on the net goes.

So this is really a groundbreaking edition, I mean on one level I've chosen a background against which it's nearly impossible to read text so in this case I've gone for style over function (which will not be a continuing trend), I've also got some text which is unreadable to me in my browser (the Blood is Compulsory up there).  See, I'm a Un*x guy, I like things simple and to the point, none of those sixty meg images which take three years to load and add nothing to the show.  You've probably noticed the Granite and Concrete style of web design (A.K.A.  Shawshank 101) we employ in these parts, see, we'd rather spend our time finding silly and useless things to say.  'nuff said.

Oh, yeah, I also have something to say this time.

Here it comes.

I just got a dog.  (Huh? Huh? Get it, Scooby, being a dog and all (sorta), me getting a dog and all?  I'm so sly.)  Her name's Lady.  Well, it's actually Somebody-or-other's Lady of Dixie, I can never remember the first bit but I don't particularly care.  Every day when I wake up and she's standing over me I feel grateful that she answer's to Lady and not to Dixie.  So while we're out walking, teaching her to walk friendly-like, cooking up a Filipino box spring hog, enjoying the morning air four hours before I'd be awake otherwise, I think of the awesome disc skills she'll have after we've worked together for a while.  I mean, sure, she's got that opposable thing going against her, but if you have no obstacles to overcome, what's the point?  Look for her to start in Am-2, but she'll be playing Open before you know it.

It's just about time to get going, I have lots of work to do tonight and, as much as I enjoy pulling Arlo, Tom, and Tom references out and stickin' 'em on scooby's smiling face, it doesn't pay the bills.  See y'all in Florida.
